Columbine: Ten Years Later

So I know that the 10 year anniversary of Columbine was on April 20th, but I just didn't have time to squeeze this post in until now. Those terribly tragic events that took place ten years ago definitely shaped the future of schools, security, gun control and more. It's certainly sad that it ever occurred, but when I read a profile on one of the shooting victims, he survived and is now a lawyer.

My Objective With Movie Reviews

So I'm sure that you're wondering why in the world I would write all of the movie reviews that I'm writing.  The reason is that there is just not that much going on with my life right now.  I guess there is enough for a post on most days, but I want to post once a day, everyday.  I have lots of movie reviews for use and I would like to get them posted, so whenever I don't have something current, I will put in a review.

Movie Review: 17 Again

There really is not much going on right now, so I want to get a bunch of movie reviews in.  17 Again stars Zac Efron and Matthew Perry.  It's the story of a guy who is thirty-seven, but is unhappy about the way that his life has turned out.  He wishes that he could do it over again.  In a magical moment, he becomes 17 again which is where the title comes from.  He enrolls at his kids' school and helps them out.  He helps his son get onto the basketball team and get his daughter out of a bad relationship.  It is truly a great movie. 4.2/5

Looking Back On Earth Day

Earth Day 2009 was a lot of fun.  I volunteered at the electronics recycling for most of the event.  We picked up computers, monitors, TV's laptops, keyboards, mice and lots of other electronic goodies.  My mom was super busy organizing the whole event.  It went off very well.  There were a couple kids from school there.  Vince, Molly, Will, myself, and Laura.  I'm keeping the last names out.  Our guess was that there were probably 650 attendees.  That's more than twice the attendence of last year!

Earth Day With LocalMotionGreen

I am very excited to be heading to the Woods Community Center for Earth Day.  There are going to be kids' games, electronics recycling, free food tastings and lots more.  Stay tuned for my post talking about it tomorrow.

Movie Review: Into The Blue 2

I recently viewed a cool movie called Into The Blue 2.  It was all about SCUBA diving.  There is some violence, so you should be aware of that going in.  I would give it a 4/5.  The cinematography was spectacular.

My Spring Break

I spent most of my spring break doing pretty much nothing.  I watched a bunch of movies, caught up on much needed sleep, and hung out with friends.  I also chatted extensively with multiple casting directors about appearing in films this summer.  I thought that would be a fun way to spend my summer.  More on that later.

The Domino's Pizza Disaster

Hey guys.  This post is going to talk about the fairly recent Domino's Pizza fiasco.  This also occurred while I was taking the Spring Break Hiatus.  This was a PR department's worst nightmare come to life.  Two Domino's Pizza employees filmed themselves sticking food up each other's noses and then putting the food onto pizzas.  They put the video up on YouTube and it quickly got hundreds of thousands of hits.  Domino's was humiliated.  They made no response within the first 24 hours, but on Wednesday, they were able to begin the correction process.  It was very embarrassing for the chain, and certainly will stick with them for a long time.

The Susan Boyle Phenomenon

Unless you've been living under a rock, and perhaps even then, you've heard of Britain's new superstar Susan Boyle. She flew onto the scene when she delivered her stunning performance that proved to be jaw dropping.  Her fame is worldwide.  She has been featured in articles in the middle east, China, Japan, the US, all over Europe and elsewhere.  he has appeared on ABC's Good Morning America, NBC's equivalent and CBS's equivalent.  She has been on Larry King Live and Oprah is trying to get her on the Oprah Winfrey show.  I for one am a big fan.

Some Thoughts About the W.

I've spent a lot of time lately thinking about George W. Bush's tenure in the White House, and I'm beginning to think that perhaps we may have misjudged him.  Even the biggest fan of Bush will tell you that he made many mistakes during his presidency, but what went on behind the scenes?  As the President of the United States of America, he was informed of security risks that we were not.  What if all of the protections and "limitations of freedom" had a useful purpose instead of just being unnecessary tools of dominance imposed upon us by a supposedly power-hungry administration?  Is it possible that we are not seeing the big picture?  I'm not saying that I'm a fan of the W., but I'm simply suggesting that we may have imposed judgment on the President without being informed of all of the facts.  Now that he is out of office, he plans to write a book about the twelve toughest decisions that he had to make as president.  I plan to read the book whenever it comes out because I want to know why he did some of the unusual things that he did during his eight year presidency.

Google AdWords

Hey guys.  This post is somewhat of a rant, so feel free to skip this one.  I have not been able to get into Google's AdWords program.  It just won't work with my Blogger account.  When I try to sign into AdWords with my Google account, it says that I don't have an AdWords account associated with my Google Account.  Then when I try to make an AdWords account to associate with my Google Account, it says that there is already an AdWords acccount associated with my account.  I just can't figure this out!  Meanwhile, I'm losing any potential ad revenue that i could be getting.  I'll keep everyone updated as the situation changes.

School @ Work

Hey everyone.  So I thought that I'd talk about something that I've been doing lately that I have found odd.  I have been doing some of my school work at work.  I thought that it was interesting because my boss does not give me enough work to do, so I usually have some time left at the end of each day.  I can almost always get all of my homework done at work, so I don't have to do it at home.

Blogger's New Features

Blogger has released some exciting new publishing features that are exciting enough for me to write about.  I can now take a picture and send it directly to my blog from my cell phone.  I can also text posts in.  That's obviously not very efficient or cost-effective, so I don't plan to do it, but it's cool none the less.  I can also post video directly to the blog.  This is all very exciting.  Maybe I will begin to use some of these features at some point.

Some Great April Fool's Stuff

I don't know if you have noticed what is on Google's homepage, but if you haven't, click here after you finish reading this post.  Every year, Google comes out with a great April Fool's joke.  Just Google "April Fool's Joke Google" to see some of the previous years.
